OEM Infiniti Radiators

What your INFINITI radiator does is simple. It helps keep your engine running as cool as possible, which helps prevent overheating. How car radiators work generally, though -- that's a little more complicated. The process in any INFINITI model starts with coolant, also known as antifreeze. This liquid traps the heat your engine generates as it runs. Coolant travels through radiator hoses, back and forth between inlet hoses and outlet hoses, to be exact. A radiator cap pressurizes it as it moves. At the end of the process, a set of fins, located on your radiator, expel the heat. A fan then dissipates it. The result: your engine works as well as possible, and one that works well lasts a lot longer. Any radiator can go bad, though. When it does, it causes other problems, such as heating and air conditioning malfunctions, engine overheats, and complete engine shutdown.

What are the Signs of Radiator Problems?

Listen for abnormal engine noises, look for fin damage and antifreeze turning gooey, and smell for a sweet aroma, like syrup. The last is ethylene glycol. It usually means you've got an antifreeze leak. If you think radiator failure is the issue, take a look at your temperature gauge first. Its needle will show you whether your engine's running too hot. Then, do a comprehensive inspection. If the results call for replacement, stay away from the aftermarket.
