Taking your INFINITI on a trip? You're probably planning to tow a weekend toy or two -- maybe a jet ski, a couple of dirt bikes, or even a boat. If you want to do it safely, however, you'll need a few OEM trailer towing accessories first. The first is a trailer hitch adapter. It's also called a hitch receiver. It hooks up to the frame of your INFINITI, letting you connect other components in the process, such as a ball mount and trailer ball. These, you connect to a trailer coupler. Stick a hitch pin or a hitch lock in your trailer ball, and the hitch and receiver can stay together better. Of course, you'll also need trailer lighting, preferably that integrates with your taillights. You'll also need trailer brakes. You can add both easily with the right wiring harness. One of those will even let you connect auxiliary power if you need it. Be sure to finish up by attaching a safety chain. It'll help keep your trailer from detaching from your vehicle. With everything installed, you're all set to start hauling. Most importantly, you'll be able to do it smoothly, stably, and effectively, around corners, up hills, and over bumps.
